In today's world, standing still means falling behind. In the tradition of North East excellence, the Leadership Development maximizes the ability of current and potential administrators and supervisors to lead into the future.
The department builds upon the successful Covey Leadership training the District has offered for the past ten years. Core classes provide supervisors and administrators with opportunities, knowledge, and skills to become great leaders who develop great teams and get great results. These leaders will inspire trust, connect the efforts of their teams to the critical objectives of NEISD, tap into the full potential of each individual on their team, clarify purpose and align systems. Core classes are offered several times each year.
Leadership Development core classes include
- The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
- The 4 Disciplines of Execution
- Leadership: Great Leaders, Great Teams, Great Results (The 8th Habit)
- Building Trust
- The Leadership Development Process (formerly DuPont)
- Communication Skills
- Vision, Mission Statement, Purpose, and Core Values Development
Attitudes and behavior include
- Identify desired administrative traits, skills, and ethics
- Provide strategic training and capacity building based on diagnosis of leaders'
needs, observed behaviors, and experiences so leaders are aligned with and
demonstrate desired district outcomes including- Building HighTrust culture
- Anticipating new changes/the "new normal"
- Taking ownership of problems and solutions
- Being flexible and adaptable
- Carrying out leadership responsibilities
- Provide ongoing opportunities for participants to gain knowledge and skills in
real work settings- Structure opportunities for active engagement and problem solving
- Provide real world application opportunities at District and campus level
- Provide leaders with vision and the skills to carry their vision by enhancing
their ability to- Respond to problems and lead into the future vs. reacting to crisis

Operations include
- Building skills: ongoing and continuous
- Developing capacity of identified NEISD leaders
- Supporting individuals and teams through mentoring, coaching, and facilitation
to increase individual and organizational effectiveness
