FRENCH HONOR SOCIETY
 
MEMBERSHIP Students have completed one and one half years of French and maintained a 90% average.
MEETINGS

General meetings are in August, October, Frebruary, and May. Officer meetings scheduled as necessary.

DESCRIPTION
To recognize scholarship and achievement in the study of French. Spring service projects to help the March of Dimes and others. Fund-raising to offset club expenses and induction ceremony.

LATIN HONOR SOCIETY
 
MEMBERSHIP Students must maintain a 90% average in Latin through April 1st.
MEETINGS

As needed.

DESCRIPTION
To promote and recognize scholarship and achievement in the study of Latin.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
 
MEMBERSHIP Junior, and Senior students with a GPA of 90% or higher AND excellence in areas of leadership, service, and character (as described in the National Honor Society Handbook) are eligible to submit a Student Activity Information Form to be considered for membership by the WCHS-NHS Faculty Council.
MEETINGS

During the 1st week of each month.

DESCRIPTION
Each member completes two hours of school and community service each six weeks while maintaining the standards of excellence for which they were elected. (Full information is in the WCHS-NHS Student Handbook).

MEMBERSHIP Nomination and approval by a faculty member.

Honorary Journalism Society recognize excellence in the field of Journalism.

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY
 
MEMBERSHIP
An advanced Spanish student (Levels IV-VI), who has maintained an average of 90 or above (semester grades) for at least two (2) semesters, is eligible for membership. A Spanish III course and earned at least 90 during the first semester grades for Spanish III is eligible for consideration of membership. Student must be a Sophomore to be initiated.

DESCRIPTION
To recognize scholarship and achievement in the study of Spanish. To encourage interest in Hispanic culture, and to participate in the life of Churchill High School and the community.
NATIONAL SPONSOR

Sociedad Honoraria Hispanic for secondary schools is a national educational society sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.

UNDERCLASS HONOR SOCIETY
 
MEMBERSHIP
9th and 10th grade students who have at least a 90 average in all classes and provide letters of recommendation from two teachers.
MEETINGS

As needed.

DESCRIPTION
Students are inducted into this organization during the spring semester as a recognition of their academic achievement and contribution to the school. Students are encouraged to continue academic rigor and student leadership as preparation for membership in the National Honor Society as juniors and/or seniors.
