The International School of the Americas provides an honors curriculum with four grade levels of instruction. Teachers present course materials to meet the unique needs and abilities of the students through both traditional and non-traditional teaching methods. College Board Advanced Placement Courses are offered in English Language, English Literature, U.S. History, Government, Economics, Calculus, Biology II, Chemistry II, Physics II, and Spanish Language. Gifted and Talented programs are offered in Mathematics and English. Extra curricular, foreign language (other than Spanish, Japanese, and Sign Language), Speech, Art, Theater, Computer, Physical Education, and Career and Technology courses are offered through the Robert E. Lee High School which shares the campus with ISA.

Grading:
Students are required to maintain a minimum average of 80%. Students receive honors weighting for most ISA courses. Exceptions to the honors weighting are Spanish I and Algebra I.
Opportunities:
Students at the International School of the Americas are also provided with many instructional opportunities including multi-method teaching, small student-teacher ratios, access to the facilities of a large high school, co-curricular field trips, and co-curricular projects integrating multi-media technology. In addition, they have many opportunities for enrichment such as freedom to create clubs and organizations, interaction with the arts community in the greater San Antonio, area, emphasis on multicultural activities, foreign travel experiences, interaction with sister schools in Mexico, and corporate and university mentors. They also have special graduation requirements including internships, community service, and personal portfolio and exhibition projects.
Library:
Students at the International School of the Americas have the opportunity to engage in student research through the Robert E. Lee High School Library. The library offers a wide variety of opportunities for research including an on-line card catalog, computer resources, video-conferencing, and student research resources such as books and periodicals.
