Prospective Freshman Shadow Program
Thank you for your interest in the International School of the Americas. We are very excited to show you all we have to offer to incoming students and their families. Below are the details of our shadowing program. We hope this will tell you all you need to know about this opportunity.
WHY: The shadow program is designed to allow students to “try-on” the ISA experience before committing to applying/attending the school as a freshman. It also offers parents the opportunity to learn about the school, tour the facility, and meet with a number of ISA faculty members.
WHAT: Students and parents will come to ISA before the school day begins for a brief information session. Then, students will attend part of two ISA core classes while parents get a tour of the campus and have a question/answer session with members of the ISA faculty.
WHO: Any current eighth grader who is interested in learning more about ISA. There will be a part of the program for parents as well.
WHEN: Each shadow day, the program will run from 8:30 am to 10:30 a.m.
The dates shadowing will be offered: To Be Announced Please check back in the fall
WHERE: Sign in as a visitor in the ISA Main Office, located on the first floor of the ISA building. ISA is located on the Montview Street side of Lee High School campus, 1400 Jackson Keller. Parking is available in a lot located on the corner of Jackson Keller and Montview.
HOW: Sign-up sheets will be available at Magnet Monday, TGA or click on the shadow application link. In addition, you can sign up by faxing a copy the shadow application sheet to the ISA office at 442-0409 or mailing it to International School of the Americas, 1400 Jackson Keller, San Antonio, Texas, 78213. Only twenty-five students can shadow each day, and the names will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.
PLEASE NOTE: The absence your student will receive is not automatically an excused absence for his/her middle school. We will be happy to provide a note for you to show your middle school attendance office. However, it is up to the middle school to decide whether it is excused or school business.
