Online Criminal History Check

Due to new requirements from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), we have inactivated all volunteers who applied before June 1, 2010. We are asking volunteers to reactivate their accounts by clicking on the "Online Criminal History Check" button above. As this is a substantial number of people (more than 10,000), our application process is taking longer than normal. Please expect about one week to be reactivated.

NOTE: Hit the "Submit Release" button only once. You'll get a message within the same page that your application has been submitted or not.

Also make sure that you input your name as shown on your driver's license. Place any suffixes, like Jr or III, in the Nickname line. If the name on your driver's license is different than your current volunteer account, please contact us at (210) 407-0309, as this may cause a problem in the reactivation process.

If you include your email address in the application, you will be notified via email when your volunteer application has been approved.

Once volunteers have been approved, V-Volunteer accounts will automatically be reactivated.

Volunteers with NEISD (being non-paid) are not required to complete the fingerprinting process in nearly all cases.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Volunteer Program at the number above. Thank you for your patience while we meet these new requirements.

Partners in Education (PIE) is the bridge between our community and the best interests of the students in the North East Independent School District . Our goal is to help students gain the academic skills and the self-confidence necessary to become successful learners, while reaching their fullest potential in the community.

Our department acts as a point of contact for volunteers, mentors, and business and community partners. We work with our schools and other education support groups to identify those practices that benefit students the most, and then marshal business and foundation resources to pilot and expand successful programs.
